The acronym LAMP means "Linux - Apache - MySQL - PHP", and many people believe it is a way to go for web programming.

Better not. Linux and Apache is fine (still, instead of Apache you could try lighttpd or nginx), but MySQL and PHP...?

  • perl, python or anything lower level like C, C++, gosh, you can even try java, it's a bloated monster but still better than PHP.
